A while ago I was looking over some of the stamps that I had in my journal and I gave a little more thought to one that I had that says, "Tire of Yaoi, We don't hate, we just wish you'd do something else". I gave it serious thought after trying to defend my own viewpoint to a few people. I don't hate yaoi myself, although some of the yaoi fans can be a tad irritating.

Such as saying that, "most yuri is pointless". To that, I say that the reason for it is becuase probably because we as male readers and writers of yuri aren't interested in relationships and just want to see the sex portion of it. That's probably the biggest reason, but my own theory is that it takes a certain kind of writer to really get into both the sex and the relationship parts of it. And from what I've seen, yaoi and shonen-ai gets the most of it.

Of course there are some shoujo-ai's out there, but then again they've been around so much that it goes without saying that yuri can be done with them. The ones I have in mind (off the top of my head) are "Sailor Moon" and "Revolutionary Girl Utena".

Though recently I had an idea and I'm not sure how well this'll go over, but perhaps someone with an idea for yuri should get together with a yaoi/shonen-ai writer and help bang out the kinks and give it a greater look and feel.

Still just ideas so let's see how it turns out.

You can find alot of Yuri if you just search long enough. You'll be surprised by how much Yuri you can find in some porn sites compared to Yaoi. IMO, I don't mind either. I prefer reading Yaoi than reading Yuri but this is a preference.

Well, at least you're not rabid about it. I mean, there are yaoi fans that get defensive and confrontational if you mention other types of pairings, if you know what I mean.

I haven't met one... so far but I have seen one. There is always gonna be "that side" of every fandom.

I like both ^^ But if you want more yuri around, then just draw more yuri.

I'm working on it. :-)

Cool ^^ See that's what you do. I heard some people say 'I want more yuri/hetero than yaoi' and they expect yaoi fans to actually draw more yuri and hetero instead of yaoi. So I just tell them 'If you want more yuri or hetero, than draw more of it'. I don't know it just bugs me when people make or try and force others to draw something they don't like drawing or writing you know? ^^; Ah forgive me if I rambled by the way, bad habit of mine eh heh heh :bows:

It's okay. After all, if you're passionate about something, then ramble away.

Yeah, believe me, my own blog has quite a few rants in it.

And don't get me started on "Twilight". I already wrote a 10 page essay on why its such an atrocious story.

Eh? Ah that's okay ^^ I personally don't mind the series, but it's okay if you dislike it. I rant about stuff to time to time...it used to be a lot of rants but I tried calming myself down a little.
