This is part of a cosplay I'm working on. A "Doctor Who" Cosplay and it will be the 4th Doctor's Scarf. The long multi-colored scarf that Tom Baker had made famous.

The yarn that I'm using is called "Cascade 220 Worsted" yarn. The information that I got on how to make this scarf was from Doctor Who Scarf a site where someone had not only managed to recreate the scarf but also some instructions on how others can do it as well. There was even an inclusion of a Scarf color pattern in which the creator of the site had shown the number of rows per color.

And now I'm going to show you through the various stages of making this scarf.

Looking good! I can't knit or crochet without jabbing myself 800 times.

Would you believe me if I told you that I didn't know how to knit until Saturday of last week?

Damn, really? Impressive. It looks all pro and such! I get fed up with the needles and use them to prod my cats while they sleep. *shifty eyes*

Yeah. I managed to learn the technique of garter stitching within a day or so. I just kept at it trying again and again to do the rhythm just right. And I've been told that this is quite a difficult project given how fine the thread is and how thin the needles are. But here it is. I'm guessing that if I keep up my pace I could be done with it in a month or less.

By the way, I'm having :iconzimmay: do that Zuko/Toph idea that I told you and Kay-sama about. The one where Toph is sitting on Zuko's back with a triumphant smile on her face.

My wife has a friend who made a full length Dr Who scarf I think he worked on it for about a month and a half WITH project monogamy. I think his was made with I Love This Yarn though

Very cool. Looks like mine is coming out a lot like that one. Although the colors in mine are a bit different by a few shades here and there.
